Alina Dionne

Ms. Dionne was raised in the coastal community of Palacios, Texas. After high school, she moved to Connecticut where she started a family and began her education. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of New Haven in West Haven, Connecticut with a degree in Criminal Justice.

It was in college where Ms. Dionne began to pursue her interest in the criminal justice system and upon graduating began her career in juvenile corrections. Ms. Dionne worked within the Connecticut judicial system to develop one of the first secure facilities for juvenile girls that satisfied federal mandates to offer gender specific services.

Working every day with the juveniles and their families alongside other professionals within the judicial system, Ms. Dionne was encouraged and determined to continue to pursue her dream of going to law school. While juggling the demands of her growing family and working full time, Ms. Dionne attended Quinnipiac University School of Law in Hamden, Connecticut at night. She received certificates of honor in criminal law and advocacy and family and juvenile law and graduated from law school cum laude. During law school, Ms. Dionne received several distinguished academic achievement awards and was the recipient of several academic scholarships.

After graduation from law school, Ms. Dionne interned for the Connecticut State's Attorney's Office for the Judicial District of Fairfield in Bridgeport, Connecticut and also clerked for the presiding civil and criminal judges of that district. Ms. Dionne passed the Connecticut Bar Exam and was admitted to practice in Connecticut in 2005. Ms. Dionne always dreamed of moving back to Texas to raise her family. In 2006, Ms. Dionne passed the Texas Bar Exam and was admitted to practice in Texas.
